WHILE most AFL players dread long flights across the country for matches, rising Fremantle star Lachie Weller has a different opinion.
Travelling interstate regularly has helped him keep in touch with family and friends.
“It’s been good this year because you travel every second week so I see my parents a lot, they’re in Melbourne now,” he said. Fremantle’s first pick in the 2014 national draft was recruited from Queensland club Southport.
He moved to the Sunshine State from Tasmania when he was just a teenager.
Older brother Mav is currently plying his trade with St Kilda in Melbourne after three years with the Gold Coast Suns, so his ties to the eastern states are strong.
