FREMANTLE Hockey Club’s Promotion 1 women are knuckling down for the toughest part of the season to date, not only preparing for a massive grand final but also gearing up for a push to join the top competition.
The Magpies will have three games to prove they deserve to be promoted to the league women competition, playing against YMCC, Lions and Hale for the last two spots in the 2017 line up.
That campaign kicked off in a less-than-ideal fashion against YMCC last night, with Fremantle going down 6-1.
Fremantle play the Lions on Sunday from 12.30pm at the Perth Hockey Stadium, while their match against Hale will be on September 15 from 7pm at the same venue.
Having finished the regular season on top of the ladder, Fremantle were also fast-tracked straight to the Promotion 1 grand final match on September 24 against either of Hale, Southern River or the South West Strikers.
