Fremantle Hockey Club’s Rani Flynn picks perfect game to score her first goal

RANI Flynn might go down in local sporting history as picking the perfect game to score her first and only goal of the year.

Flynn’s second half goal in Fremantle Hockey Club’s Promotion 1 women grand final game against Hale was the only one scored for either team in the game, winning Fremantle the coveted championship to cap off a stellar year.

The Magpies were the team to beat all year, losing only three games, finishing as minor premiers and earning themselves a promotion to the 2017 league competition.

It was a successful grand final weekend for Fremantle, with the Men’s Provisional 2 beating the previously unbeaten UWA 2-1 in golden goal extra time and the Men’s Masters 40s Division 4 team also winning 1-0 through golden goal over Suburban Lions.

The club’s Men’s Midweek Master’s team finished extra time at 1-1 in their match against the Westside Wolves before going on to claim a 6-5 win via penalty shootout.
