Fremantle team to test skills against world best

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

Twenty-four young gymnasts aged from eight to 19 will head to the Prime Gymnastics International Invitational in November to test their skills against the best young international gymnasts.

Coach Fiona Hearn said if history was anything to go by, the girls would more than hold their own in the competition.

‘We are not the best club at the event, but we are certainly not the bottom either and last time we placed sixth out of 34 teams from nine countries,’ she said.

‘The girls have all been working hard, they have been doing an extra session per week since selection in March, and they will be training three times per week over the school holidays as well.
