Tip-off is at 6.30pm.

Cockburn will be out to get its stuttering start to 2017 on track with a win over Rockingham at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex tonight.

The Cougars are 3-9 but will tackle a Flames outfit faring little better at 4-8.

In the men’s division, Cockburn can move into the positive with a win over Rockingham tonight.

The Cougars have improved their win-loss ledger to 7-7, with some impressive performances over recent weeks earning them a spot among the sides chasing finals action.

Play at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex begins at 8.30pm.

Lakeside also remains in the mix at 7-7, but face a massive task downing the competition leaders Willetton away tonight.

Willetton have won 13 of 15 matches this season.

Tip-off at Willetton Basketball Stadium is 8.30pm.

FOOTBALL

WAFL action returns this weekend following a bye for the State game last week, with South Fremantle travelling to East Fremantle for a WA Day derby.

Despite four of their stars performing well against the VFL last Saturday, the Bulldogs enter the match at East Fremantle coming off two straight defeats.

The first was a 39-point loss to the league’s best side, Subiaco, before they were trumped by one point by East Perth a week later.

While there is always a bit of spice to the derbies, the Bulldogs’ cross-town rivals will offer them a great chance to get back to form, with the Sharks winless after eight matches.

The closest the Sharks have run to getting four points was a 13-point loss against fellow strugglers Perth in round 3.

The first bounce on Monday will be at 2.15pm.

SOCCER

After finally picking up their fifth win of the season, and their first since April 8 last weekend, Cockburn City will be pushing for two in a row when they take on Balcatta tomorrow.

The two sides fought out a gruelling nil-all draw at Dalmatinac Park earlier this season, but Cockburn City will have to find some form in front of goals if they want to steal an away win this time around.

Both teams find themselves faltering mid-season after a relatively strong start to 2017 and will be looking to push themselves further up the ladder, Cockburn from eighth and Balcatta from 11th.

Cockburn City takes on Balcatta at Grindleford Reserve in Balcatta from 3pm on June 3.
