Heavy loss

Bryce LuffFremantle Gazette

English recruit Tom Abell starred on Saturday with an unbeaten 112 to lead the Port Boys to an eight-wicket win over Mt Lawley at Stevens Reserve.

Fremantle chased down Mt Lawley’s 193 within 35 overs, losing only Chris Fenner for six and Chris Wood for 61 along the way.

Unfortunately they could not back it up on Sunday, with Fremantle hammered by a rampant Joondalup at Iluka Sports Complex.

Ty Hopes took five wickets to rout Fremantle for just 94.
