Fremantle have earned promotion to next year’s women’s State League after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Hale on Thursday night.

FREMANTLE Hockey Club’s women One’s team will play in the State League competition in 2017 after a massive win in their final promotion/relegation game last Thursday night.

Also finishing the regular season on top of the Promotion One ladder, which earned them an automatic placing in this weekend’s grand final, the Magpies will next year compete against the best in the competition after getting through the promotion/relegation round robin with two wins from three games.

Last night’s hard-fought 2-1 win over fellow Promotion One team Hale sealed their passage to the premier competition in WA.

The win could be considered great preparation for Fremantle, who take on Hale again in this weekend’s Promotion One Grand Final.

The game will be from 11.30am on September 24 at the Perth Hockey Stadium.
