Hockey: Fremantle women suffer 4-1 loss to bogey team Souther River

FREMANTLE Hockey Club’s Promotion 1 women suffered just their second loss of the season when they went down to Southern River 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Southern River is fast becoming Fremantle’s bogey team, with both losses this season coming at their hands.

Both teams went into halftime scoreless, but Southern River blasted out of the gates in the second with Tanya Britz scoring all four goals.

Fremantle’s only goal came courtesy of Heather Batten.

The loss had Fremantle slip from first to second on the ladder, Southern River leap-frogging them to take pole position with seven rounds to go.
