Kitesurfer looks to Leighton

Jessica Nico, Fremantle GazetteFremantle Gazette

Fremantle resident and experienced kitesurfer Clive Workum might know his way around a kite, but he and the countless other locals taking part in the race from Rottnest Island to North Fremantle’s Leighton Beach will have a fight on their hands from the many international competitors that have put their hands up.

This includes world speed record holder and inaugural Lighthouse to Leighton winner Alex Caizergues from France, who will be back to defend his record time of 24 minutes 34 seconds which he set in the inaugural race in 2010.

2012 winner Jonathon Keys and 2011 winner Dale Stanton will also compete.
