Learn to curl at Cockburn Ice Arena

Bryce LuffFremantle Gazette

CURLING might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of sport in Western Australia, but its supporters believe it has a bright future.

Curling WA hosted a learn to curl program earlier this year, with many of those taking part in that program going on to compete in the first ever WA Curling League.

Building on that momentum, Curling WA will run its second learn to curl program of 2016.

Curling WA chairman Elliott Douglas said the course would be held over the first three Sundays in September at the Cockburn Ice Arena.

“The concept behind the sessions is that by enrolling you will be taught the various skills and techniques of curling,” he said.

Mr Douglas said the program would allow players to feel competent enough to take part in a cup competition Curling WA plans to launch.
