Munster resident re-appointed as state Under-16s basketball coach

MUNSTER resident Tyrone Thwaites has been re-appointed to coach WA’s Under-16 Metro Men’s basketball team at the Australian Junior Championships in July.

Thwaites helped WA claim bronze at the 2016 Championships in Victoria.

The Metro Men’s side went 8-1 to finish third, with Thwaites rewarded with another stint at the helm.

Basketball WA has also announced Blake Srdarev as coach of the WA Country Women’s side, with Robyn Winter leading the Metro Women’s team.

Andrew Cooper will lead the WA Country Men’s team, which will be looking to improve on their 13th-place finish at this year’s championships.

The 2017 Under-16 Australian Junior Championships will be hosted at Warwick Stadium from July 8 – 15.
