Neymar Jr’s Five: Ducks too mighty in all-Freo soccer final

The Fremantle Mighty Ducks took on Fremantle FC in the final game of the five-a-side soccer tournament, with the Mighty Ducks eventually crowned WA champions after a tight, defensive tussle.

Both teams will now travel to Melbourne to compete in the national competition and a chance to play in the world final held in Brazil next month.

Fremantle Mighty Ducks captain Daniel Muzzarelli said as futsal players, he and his teammates could not pass up the opportunity to take part in the competition.

“Obviously we’re pretty happy to win the state tournament, but it was even better that it was an all-Freo final; it was a great tournament and a great experience,” he said.

“The team is so excited for the nationals in Melbourne. We will go over and take it one game at a time and just have fun with it and hopefully results will take care of themselves.

“It would be absolutely massive if we get the chance to go to Brazil, but we will try to get through the nationals first though.”
