Samson taekwondo club members kick butt at national competition

French’s Martial Arts students Kade Gizzarone (14), Diaz Gizzarone (12) and Bradley Reeby (12) travelled to the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra with their instructor Steele French for the 2017 Australian Cadet Team Selections and the chance to represent their country at a major international event.

Both Kade and Diaz excelled in the competition, winning a silver medal in their respective divisions after going down in the final bout.

French said he was extremely proud of his students.

“We are a small family-based club and we are competing with some of the biggest taekwondo clubs through-out Australia,” he said.

The club is now preparing for its next big competition, with seven students flying to Malaysia for a tournament in August.
