Year 10 student David John and Year 11 student Jake Taylor were selected in the 18-man School Sports WA baseball team that will take on the best teams from all around the country in the national competition.

South Fremantle baseball co-ordinator Andrew Kyle said he believed the players had the opportunity to play at an elite level if they were willing to put in the work, with the possibility of joining a number of alumni at major league teams.

“They have progressed since joining the program in Year 8, making the big adjustments and it is fantastic to see all the work they have put in being rewarded,” he said.

“They are all capable of playing College Baseball and then if they continue to develop could be capable of playing in the ABL in future years.”
