Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

South Lake’s Andrew Scott, Jadryn Dick, Beaconsfield’s Zac Leonhard and Sutherlan Scudds represented WA in the Open Men’s Sabre Team competition, vying against the best teams from the ACT, NSW, Victoria, Queensland and New Zealand.

Pitted against Queensland B in their first bout, the quartet accounted for their opponents easily, winning 45 points to 24 and while their semi final against NWS B was a little closer, their dominance continued, winning 45-33.

They had a shaky start in the final against New South Wales A with Scudds and Dick losing the first two fights, before the team rallied to take it out in emphatic fashion 45-38.
