LOCAL children can try their hand at a fun and inclusive sport at the Fremantle Roosters Junior Rugby League club’s upcoming come-and-try day.
The event is aimed at giving children aged four to 16 the chance to try their hand at the increasingly popular sport ahead of the new 2017 junior season.
Fremantle Roosters junior committee member James Bunce said the event would also include a range of food, games and prizes for the whole family to enjoy.
“We want the opportunity to involve more children in Rugby League without committing straight away, a bit of try before you buy, and we felt the best way was to organise a day like this and have some fun,” he said.
“Two years ago we held a similar event and we had a huge response with lots of boys and girls enjoying themselves.
“Rugby League is such an inclusive game for boys and girls of all abilities and is possibly the cheapest of all sports to play.”
The Fremantle Roosters Junior Rugby League come and try event is at Botany Park, Hammond Park from 10am to 2pm on February 11.
