Tom Bottrell: We will be setting high standards off the field.

WELCOME to the 2017 WAFL season to all of our fantastic supporters.

It has been great being back home and in a position to positively impact our mighty club.

While winning senior premierships and having players drafted into the AFL system are our key aims, there are a number of exciting initiatives happening involving our future and our community involvement.

The redevelopment of Fremantle Community Bank Oval will become a key piece of sustainability for our next 120 years.

Now that the Fremantle Dockers have moved to the Cockburn facility, we have the opportunity to host a number of events that would not have otherwise been available to us.

Has there been a bigger name in our history than Stephen Michael?

We are proud to announce the launch of the Stephen Michael Foundation, which will run development programs in schools and communities.

These programs offer the youth in our zone the opportunity to grow as players and, more importantly, as people.

I want to wish Todd Curley and all of our players a successful 2017 season and to ensure they all work extremely hard on developing themselves as players and as people every time they step out on the track.

To our wonderful sponsors and fans, thank you for the loyalty you show every season and rest assured, we will be setting high standards off the field in order to become a powerhouse of the competition,

See you at the footy!
