A LOCAL umpire has celebrated a big milestone.
South Fremantle District umpire Matt Adams officiated his 100th game during Round 20’s game between Swan Districts and Claremont.
Adams has risen up the umpiring ranks since first donning the whistle at age 14, winning the Umpires Golden Whistle Award in 2006 as a South Fremantle junior umpire and making his WAFL debut in round 3, 2011.
He said he was now pushing for AFL selection and the chance to run alongside some of the game’s great referees.“I look up to WA umpires Jeff Dalgleish, Luke Farmer and Dean Margetts,” he said.
“They all represent the pinnacle of umpiring in the state.”458128: Matt Adams recently celebrated his 100th game as an umpire.
