Mary’s Mount Primary School ramps up recycling efforts

Students and staff attended the Gooseberry Hill school dressed in green, with a gold coin donation going towards the set-up of the school’s worm farms.

The school registered for the Challenge for Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week November 7-13.

This involves ‘going green’ for the environment.

After a week of classroom ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ themed activities and lessons, students came together to celebrate the recent accreditation on becoming a Waste Wise School.

Years 4 and 5 students addressed the assembly and spoke about their experiences and learning from their recent Red Hill Waste Management tour.

Cleanaway’s Brendan Morgan spoke to students, sharing information on the benefits recycling has on the environment and spreading the message of the 3Rs.
