THE Department of Parks and Wildlife issued a smoke alert for the Perth Hills late on Wednesday afternoon.
The smoke was from prescribed burns southeast of Kalamunda.
It was recommended people shut doors and windows and turn off airconditioners if the smoke was thick.
There were also warnings that smoke could reduce visibility on roads and motorists should take care, turn on headlights and travel at appropriate speeds.
