TWO science students from Year 9 at Swan View Senior High School and their teacher are headed to Fiji as part of a working holiday installation for alternative power sources.

Science teacher Rachael Katsere said they had been selected as part of the Fiji Power plant project being run by Bookend Trust to help with the installation of a power plant at a medical centre in Fiji.

The trip is planned over a two-week period during the school holidays.

Four candidates have been chosen nationally with two of the four students from Swan View SHS.

The students had to create a power point presentation suggesting sources of renewable energy that could be used at the medical centre.

In the end all they were rewarded by winning the trips to Fiji.

“It is an incredible opportunity for the students to take Science to a different level,” Ms Katsere said.

“No doubt it will be a fantastic trip.”
