MORE than 1000 people celebrated the grand launch of Alkimos Beach residential estate’s new display village last weekend.

There were tram tours, workshops, kids’ activities and wildlife displays on the day, which also marked the official opening of the community’s new sales and information centre featuring a rooftop viewing deck overlooking the ocean.

Visitors could inspect the seven new displays in the estate, the first in the country to achieve a six-star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia for its ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Four homes have a seven-star energy efficiency rating through the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme while the remainder achieve a minimum six-star rating.

LandCorp chief operations officer Dean Mudford said the vision was for the joint venture with LendLease to work towards becoming a carbon neutral community.

“The display village showcasing sustainable building designs and practices is an important aspect in implementing this vision through educating prospective buyers on how to live more sustainably by minimising their energy and water consumption,” he said.

“This in turn strengthens the community’s resilience into the future.”

Residents have easy access to a range of amenities and services, including two schools, The Sprout community hub for business meetings, launch events and training sessions and Gateway shopping precinct with an IGA supermarket.

Living in Australia’s first Surf Life Saving endorsed BeachSafe community, they can participate in community surf life saving programs for free.

There are titled lots from 150sq m to more than 400sq m plus fencing and front landscaping available for $128,500-$395,000 as well as turnkey packages with ocean vistas to choose from at Alkimos Beach.

Until April 30, there is a $16,500 discount on select titled lots, with prices starting at $128, 500.

LendLease Communities WA general manager Anthony Rowbottam said homes included an Energy Smart Home Package, saving residents up to 50 per cent on energy bills.

The sales and information centre on the corner of Graceful Boulevard and Painted Parkway is open seven days from 9am to 5pm.
