Justin turns his talents to tapas

The likeable Leederville chef-restaurateur of Jus Burger fame recently opened Pinchos at his former Snags and Sons eatery on Newcastle Street.

Serving ‘real’ Spanish tapas, the venture is a slice of nostalgia for the former Londoner who spent many a youthful summer in Spain.

‘I really have been gagging to do this in Perth for a while; I firmly believe in Spanish food and I think I get it,’ Mr Bell said.

‘Ultimately, I wanted to do what I perceived as a proper tapas pintxos bar like in Spain.’

Mr Bell named the eatery after the pronunciation of pintxos ” a small snack, typically on a skewer and eaten in bars in Spain ” rather than its spelling, to avoid confusion.

As a father-of-two, he also wanted it to be easy for his kids to understand.

He said Leederville was still a busy spot despite a few vacant shops.
