A new entrance, reception, cafe, retail shop, lift, admin offices, toilet and change area were also included in the redevelopment.

Leisure Centre manager Dale Morrissy said about 3500 people were expected to be members of the centre over the next two to three years, with 2000 people already on the membership list.

City of Vincent Mayor Alannah MacTiernan said the demographics of the area had sparked the need for the redevelopment, which started in 2011.
