ENGLISH celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has announced he will open the doors of his four Australian restaurants this Christmas Day to offer free meals for those doing it tough.

Mr Oliver has restaurants in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney.

He issued a call for volunteers via his Instagram account on Wednesday.

“We want to fill (the restaurants) with people that can come in for free – people that would be lonely, people that might be homeless and people in need,” Mr Oliver said.

“We’re also asking for volunteers.

“For those people that would be interested, come down to Jamie’s Italian and volunteer.

“It’s going to be loads of fun.

“We’re going to spoil them with beautiful food, comfort food, and loads of love and we’re going to laugh a lot.”

People interested in volunteering can register via this website.

Jamie’s Italian is located at 140 William Street in Perth.
