Comedy: Judith Lucy Vs Men comes to Perth next year

Tyler BrownEastern Reporter

AUSTRALIAN funny woman Judith Lucy is asking if it’s time to give up dating in her new solo comedy show.

At age 50, Lucy finds herself single again.

After reflecting on her entire history with men, she’s concluded that maybe it’s time to shut up shop.

“Whatever it is that I’m selling, a lot of straight guys simply aren’t that interested in buying it – and I’m including people like my father,” Lucy said.

Lucy will be travelling around the country next year with Judith Lucy Vs Men, exploring stereotypes, her own desires and recounting her history with the opposite sex, leaving it up to the audience to determine whether she should ever date again.

She will perform at the Heath Ledger Theatre from Thursday, May 30 to Saturday, June 1.

This will be her first solo show since Ask No Questions of the Moth took home the prestigious Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Performance in 2015.

Last year also saw her team up with good friend Denise Scott for Disappointments, which saw them win the 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s People’s Choice Award.

Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday at www.judithlucy.com.au.
