UPDATE: Fleetwood Mac has announced an additional concert date for Perth as part of their Australian tour. The second concert will be at RAC Arena on Saturday, August 11.
Tickets on sale now.
MUSIC legends Fleetwood Mac announced this morning they will return to our shores later this year, kicking off their Australian tour in Perth.
The tour, which follows the band’s 50-plus city tour around North America, will feature the new line-up of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie along with newcomers Mike Campbell from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Neil Finn.
Campbell and Finn joined last year after long-time singer, songwriter and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham was booted from the band due to disagreements about touring.
“Fleetwood Mac has always been about an amazing collection of songs that are performed with a unique blend of talents,” Fleetwood said.
“We jammed with Mike and Neil and the chemistry really worked and let the band realise this is the right combination to go forward with in Fleetwood Mac style.
“We know we have something new, yet it’s got the unmistakable Mac sound.”
Starting at Perth’s RAC Arena on August 9, the Grammy-award winners will head to Brisbane on August 20, Sydney on August 27 and 29, and Melbourne on September 2 and 4.
The band has promised fans they will perform all the hits they love “plus we’ll be surprising our audiences with some tracks from our historic catalogue of songs”.
Tickets for Perth will go on sale at noon on Friday, January 25.
Sydney will go on sale at 9am, Melbourne at 10am and Brisbane at 11am.
However, there will be a pre-sale for Optus customers on Tuesday, January 22, from 10am for Perth, and a Live Nation pre-sale on Thursday, January 24, from noon for Perth.
