Fringe Festival: Comedy hypnotist Matt Hale pumping out laughs at the Feelgood Factory

Jessica WarrinerEastern Reporter

COMEDY hypnotist Matt Hale is preparing to open the doors to the Feelgood Factory.

The international performer, three-time national comedy award-winner and Scarborough resident will be returning to Fringe Festival with his biggest and best outing yet.

“It’s an amplification of the good vibes that seemed to emanate for a few years around the show,” he said.

“I cannot wait to present this one – whether you’re taking part or whether you’re watching, I want you to leave with a nice buzz.”

Hale, returning to Fringe for his fourth festival, said the Feelgood Factory was all about leaving with a positive mindset – and if you are susceptible to suggestion, all the better.

“One of my favourites was the breakdancing nanna. Her grandson had been a breakdancer, and he would always practice in front of her,” he said.

“I’ve done routines where people dance like no one’s watching, just unbridled dancing.”

The performer said it was fantastic to see artists from all over the country and the world descend on the city during Fringe “at the most joyous time, summer in Perth”.

The Feelgood Factory will ramp up across four venues in Yagan Square, Cockburn, Scarborough and Ocean Reef.

“You’re going to leave feeling amazing, you’re probably going to remember a certain dance, and you’ll leave with the knowledge that you’re in control of the way you feel,” Hale said.

“We’re going to laugh a lot.”
