All the world’s a stage for aspiring local actor

The Inglewood resident was among 14 people worldwide accepted into an acting course at the British theatre school.

Acacia will begin her yearlong course in September.

"I auditioned this year as a practise so I could audition again next year and know what to expect; I was so surprised when I was offered a place," she said. "I've always looked up to British actors due to their versatility and supreme understanding of the craft.

The 21-year-old had specialist lessons at Perth College from years 2 to 12 under the tutelage speech and drama teacher Deb Mitchell.

Ms Mitchell said she was extremely proud of Acacia.

"This is a remarkable achievement; more than 1700 people auditioned for the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, which is a world-class, highly prestigious training ground," Ms Mitchell said.
