Arson Squad calls for witnesses to Kings Park bushfire

DETECTIVES from the Arson Squad’s Strike Force Vulcan have called for help investigating today’s fire at Kings Park.

Fire fighters and police were called to the fire just before 1am, believed to have started in bushland near a gravel track located between May Drive and the tennis club.

The fire travelled in a westerly direction toward Thomas Road, fanned by strong easterly winds.

Police believe the cause of the fire was suspicious and are asking for anyone with information – or who saw any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area between 12:30am and 1am – to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information leading to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
