THE ART Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) celebrated 15 years of the Tom Malone Prize this week with the launch of a new Gallery publication.

Elizabeth Malone and Stefano Carboni, together with Sheryl Grimwood, are hosted the launch of the new AGWA publication on Tuesday at the Gallery.

The Tom Malone Prize is a respected national event within the Australian glass arts community and has played an integral role in the Gallery’s acquisition of works by Australia’s “most inspiring, innovative and accomplished” artists in this medium since its inception in 2003.

Written and edited by AGWA Curator Robert Cook, the new book includes the shortlisted works for the Tom Malone Prize from 2003 to 2017, a synopsis on the history of the prize, details of the winning works and interviews with the winners of the Prize since 2003.

Guests at the launch guests were able to view this year’s special exhibition of the winner, Marc Leib, and the shortlisted artists of the Prize, including Kevin Gordon.
