Asbestos found at new Perth Children’s Hospital: Health Minister confirms troubling find

Staff writerEastern Reporter

THE Western Australian Government has confirmed traces of asbestos were found in roofing panels at the new Perth Children’s Hospital this week.

Tests were ordered when a worker cut into a roof panel, one of 150 on level eight, this week and found the substance.

Four of the seven samples tested came back positive for asbestos.

Health Minister John Day on Thursday confirmed the find.
