POLICE have charged a 17-year-old boy after he allegedly threatened a taxi driver with a broken bottle before stealing his vehicle.
At 10.30pm last night, a taxi collected the boy on the corner of Aberdeen and Parker Streets in Northbridge.
The taxi driver asked him to exit the vehicle at which point he allegedly threatened the driver and ordered him out of the taxi.
The driver got out and the passenger drove off.
The taxi was fitted with GPS and police were provided updates on the location of the taxi.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle on Tonkin Highway, Welshpool but lost sight of it before it was found around 11pm on Wentworth Parade in Success.
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated armed robbery, no authority to drive, failing to stop and reckless driving.
He will appear in the Perth Children�s Court today.
