The 22-year-old UWA student is in her fourth year of studying a double degree with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Economics.

Ms Friedland said she was really excited to be a recipient of the prestigious award.

‘I am extremely grateful for this opportunity from ANZ and the UWA business school,’ she said.

The ANZ UWA Business School Asia Fellowship provides two students every year with the opportunity to take part in an exchange program in finance and economics at the University of Hong Kong.

The all-expenses paid trip also provides the students with the opportunity to work at the ANZ branch in Hong Kong for two months.

Once she graduates, Ms Friedland said she hoped to make a positive contribution and impact in the area of finance and economics in Australia.
