Inglewood butcher pens tales of his top cuts

Sophie GabrielleEastern Reporter

The book is expected to be called The Flesh in My Life and will trace Mr Garreffa’s life, from his journey to WA from Calabria when he was five years old, as well his 50 years working as a butcher.

“While I’m neither shy, nor retiring, I’m also not wealthy in money, but very wealthy in everything else,” he said.

“So to be able to tell this story, my family has urged me to get the book crowd-funded.”

Mr Garreffa said he was planning to publish between 2500 and 5000 copies, depending on demand.

The campaign has attracted more than $7000 so far and any remaining funds once the book is published will go to Mr Garreffa’s charity, Mondo Community Warriors.

The book will also include illustrated educational segments on cuts of meat and meat preparation.
