Cancer Council urges Biggest Morning Tea participation

Caitlin TillerEastern Reporter

CANCER Council WA (CCWA) is encouraging businesses to get behind Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in May and June.

Southern Cross Austereo Perth general manager Linda Wayman attended the campaign’s April 15 launch at Barrack Street Jetty.

“No one is immune from the impact of cancer – as they say, it doesn’t discriminate – which is why all businesses should hold an event for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea to help boost their fundraising efforts with the aim of one day finding a cure for this terrible disease,” Ms Wayman said.

CCWA chief executive Susan Rooney said it was a simple idea that could connect staff affected by cancer while raising funds for CCWA.

“Throughout May and June people right across Australia will be gathering for their Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea functions,” Ms Rooney said.

“The official date is Thursday May 26 (a work day) so it’s the perfect excuse for management to lead by example and hold an event at work.”
