Cancer diagnosis an opportunity to raise funds

After being diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, the owner of Hair Outaquin in North Perth decided to organise a fundraiser in the hope of giving others with the disease in the future a better

‘Maybe it wasn’t just about hair, maybe it was about women’s health and strength, because just thinking about some of the things I go through with my clients ” marriage break-ups, losing their babies, this is just another thing I can help with.’

Mrs Outten’s hair will soon fall out following the start of chemotherapy.

As part of the fundraiser, she has decided to let her husband and business partner Jason cut her lovely locks.

‘The reason I decided to do the shave was not so much the fundraiser, but because it is the only thing I have control over,’ Mrs Outten said.

Mrs Outten said the response to the event had been overwhelming.
