RAINE Square developer Charter Hall has dispelled a rumour aired on breakfast radio this morning that Palace Cinemas would be replaced with a childcare centre.

A caller to 6PR’s breakfast show with Steve Mills and Basil Zempilas suggested during the ‘Rumour File’ segment that the 12-screen cinema complex would be scrapped from the development.

However, a Charter Hall spokeswoman told Community News this morning that work on the level two multiplex was well underway and the complex would be open late next year.

“There’s no way they’re not coming to Perth,” she said.

The multiplex will host international film festivals and contemporary cinema from Great Britain, Scandinavia, Italy, Spain and France.
