Child exploitation: Inglewood man charged with grooming offences

POLICE have charged a 19-year-old Inglewood man with child exploitation offences.

It will be alleged the man conversed on various social media sites in a sexual manner with a person he believed was a 12-year-old girl over many months.

On Tuesday June 7, WA Police and Australian Federal Police conducted a search warrant at the man’s residence and seized a number of computer items.

The man was charged with three counts of using electronic communication with intent to procure a person under 16 years of age to engage in sexual activity.

He was also charged with one count of using electronic communication with intent to procure a person under the age of 13 years to engage in sexual activity.

The man is due to appear in court today.
