PERTH commissioners will on April 24, behind closed doors, discuss potentially reimbursing two suspended councillors for their legal fees in separate investigations.

Councillor James Limnios and Deputy Mayor Jemma Green have made the requests to the City of Perth for the reimbursements.

Cr Limnios’ is keen for his legal fees back after being investigated by the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) last year after allegations he offered Councillor Reece Harley money to drop out of the Deputy Mayor race.

The CCC was not able to form an opinion on the allegation of serious misconduct against Cr Limnios

Cr Green is seeking reimbursement after she instructed law firm Bennett & Co to act for her during an internal review launched in respect to the Herbert Freehills Smith report codenamed ‘Project Percy’.

The cost breakdown for both requests is not available to the public.

Four suspended councillors are also seeking financial assistance for legal representatives in light of the Panel Inquiry launched in March by Local Government Minister David Templeman.

This will also be decided at the April 24 meeting.
