THE City of Vincent is hosting a Bike Market (Mt Lawley), Bike Breakfast (Mt Hawthorn) and a Bike Wash (Leederville) as part of Bike Week from March 15-24.

“If you own a bike, whether you are a regular or casual cyclist, Bike Week is a great excuse to get on your bike and embrace the benefits of cycling,” Mayor Emma Cole said.

“We have excellent cycling infrastructure with connections between town centres and to community hubs, like Loftus Centre and our library.

“We also have good links through to Perth for commuter cyclists.”

Ms Cole said Bike Week was a great reminder to consider using your bike for the next short trip around Vincent, or for the work commute.

“Jumping on your bike instead is good for your health, great for easy access to local businesses and parking, and is a whole lot safer on our bike paths and boulevards,” she said.

The Bike Week events are funded by the City and a $2250 grant from the Department of Transport and WestCycle.
