BETHANIE on the Park colleagues Brian Whiteaker and Nancy McGregor will put friendship aside for their football teams over the coming weeks.

Mrs McGregor, a die-hard Fremantle Dockers supporter, is the administration assistant to boss Mr Whiteaker, who bleeds the blue and gold.

The duo said they were excited but nervous for the upcoming preliminary finals and were hoping their teams would make it to the holy grail of the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Mr Whiteaker said he had followed the West Coast Eagles since 1987 and loved the team’s never give up attitude.

“They are really the surprise packet this year, Simo has done an amazing job,” Mr Whiteaker said.

“I think their chance to make it to the grand final is as good as any.”

Mrs McGregor said she loved the Dockers and began following them in 1994, loving their underdog tag.

“I love their attitude and the way they play,” she said.

“If we don’t make it to the grand final or win one I will be shattered,

“We’ve had a good season, although people believe we don’t have the form to make it all the way. But it is week by week and who knows what tomorrow brings.

“I wish them nothing but the best, I’d love for us to win a premiership after 21 years.”
