Community News snapper captures sneak peek of Yagan Square Statue

COMMUNITY News photographer Andrew Ritchie has snapped a sneak peek of the city’s newest statue.

The sculpture will be the centrepiece of Perth’s new Yagan Square.

The new statue is known as ‘Wirin, Continuing Spirit’ and was designed by artist Lance Chad.

The 9m high cast iron/steel sculpture is set to become a new city landmark and wayfinding icon within Yagan Square.

The figure will have his face turned towards the north, watching the sun cross the sky.

An earlier version of this story incorrectly identified the statue as being of the warrior Yagan.
