Court of Appeals reserves decision on Scaffidi disqualification appeal

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

THE Court of Appeals has reserved its decision after today’s hearing on City of Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi’s disqualification appeal.

A Court of Appeals spokeswoman said the move was “standard procedure” with no timeline set for deliberations or a final decision.

The State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) in September disqualified Ms Scaffidi from holding office for 18 months failing to disclose gifts and travel

The SAT found Ms Scaffidi breached the Local Government Act 45 times by not declaring gifts and travel.

Ms Scaffidi immediately appealed the decision.

She then stepped back from her mayoral duties when the Court of Appeal stayed the operation of the order made by the SAT.
