Yasemin is excited about her 2014 campaign, with the national titles taking place in Adelaide from March 26 to 30.

‘I’ll be one of the youngest competitors and my coach believes I should aim for a medal,’ she said.

Undertaking a strenuous training schedule, Yasemin prides herself on personal discipline and a healthy diet.

‘You can lapse in concentration at times during the longer distances, but the important thing is to remember correct technique,’ she said.

Her form and sport teacher Narelle Henry said Yasemin’s mental toughness had also translated to educational success.

‘Yasemin is a mature student, who is quietly confident of her ability,’ Ms Henry said.

Yasemin said she was at ease with her upcoming challenges and excited about her future.
