DIANA Beeck is on a mission to educate the Perth public about dessert while Starman will be entertaining the crowd to raise money for the Starlight Children’s Foundation at next month’s De Lish Expo.
The Mt Hawthorn businesswoman will host a masterclass at the expo that has partnered with the South Perth-based charity.
Starlight volunteers will be selling 500 cupcakes from Kelly’s Kakes and shaking tins for the foundation from 9am-5pm.

Money raised will support sick children via the Starlight Express Room at Princess Margaret Hospital.
Meanwhile, Ms Beeck will be teaching people the art of making an entremet – a layered cake with a shiny glaze.
“There are no more than four components in this dessert – mousse, jelly, fruit puree and sponge,” the Bites By D owner said.
Ms Beeck said she was excited to be involved in an expo that exposed true desserts.
“Perth is not up to speed with dessert… we have a brunch and coffee culture and love of bakeries and American trends,” she said.
“Dessert should never make you feel heavy or feel like you’ve eaten half a loaf of bread or a big burger.
“It’s supposed to complement your meal.”
The secret to a good dessert is quality ingredients.
