Dinosaur Discovery: Lost Creatures of the Cretaceous: first dinosaurs arrive for new exhibit at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre

THERE were some unusual commuters in Perth on Monday.

The first shipment of dinosaurs for a new exhibition, including a Tyrannosaurus Rex, arrived in the CBD on flatbeds to make their way to their new home at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Coming from Queensland, Dinosaur Discovery: Lost Creatures of the Cretaceous, features 23 moving, life-size animatronics dino models.

Four of them, including a 12m-long T-Rex and an 11m Carcharodontosaurus, graced the streets of Perth.

WA Museum chief executive Alec Coles said dino fans were in for a treat.

“This giant exhibition makes its return from its record breaking attendance at the Queensland Museum,” he said.

“We’ve added extra dinosaurs, new activities and a range of new digital interactives.”

The exhibition will open September 20 and goes until January 28.
