THIRD year carpentry and joinery apprentice Cody Versteeg, from East Perth, has been named apprentice of the year twice this year.
The 22-year-old received the accolade in July from the Housing Industry Association and again in August from the ABN Group at an awards night held at the Hyatt Regency Perth.
Future bricklayer, 20-year-old Lachlan Bilske from Mt Lawley was also recognised as a standout achiever, winning best second-year apprentice .
Mr Bilske has been working as a bricklaying apprentice on Dale Alcock Home sites.
ABN Group managing director Dale Alcock said it was important to see apprentices recognised for the hard work and commitment that they have put into learning their trade.
“We will continue to work with WA’s next generation of apprentices to help them become the best-of-the-best in their trade,” he said.
