FORMER Newman College student and Formula One star Daniel Ricciardo will return to Perth to support good friend Stefani Caminiti at her inaugural The Inner Ninja Foundation Gala Ball at the Hyatt Regency on December 13.
Ms Caminiti , a suicide survivor, started her foundation after a battle with depression.
She hopes her story will deliver a message of hope and encourage others to seek help.
Ms Caminiti has dedicated the last 10 years of her time to volunteering for various organisations including Lifeline WA, The Salvation Army, Urban Network, beyondblue and Girls Standing Strong, and said she wanted to harness the voice of lived expertise.
“I believe mental wellness, suicide prevention and education go hand in hand in making our communities safe and inclusive of people with brain health issues and mental illnesses,” she said.
The night will showcase a series of inspirational speakers including a keynote from Ricciardo, who will also be attending an exclusive meet and greet for corporate tables on the evening.
Ricciardo is passionate about raising awareness and smashing stigmas and urged people to purchase tickets.
“(Stefani’s) done it all in over a year and it’s been amazing, what she’s done to get awareness and a voice out there regarding mental illness and turning that into mental wellness so I’m super proud of her,” he said.
“There’s just over a week left to book some tables doing a little gala dinner and it’s going to be great.”
Tickets are still available for the night.
