“Drain the swamp,” he tells Van Susteren at one point.

“We love him in Australia he’s a little bit controversial, but I think he needs to do that to clean the swamp up,” Mr Kizon said.

The Northbridge businessman revealed that he is a fan of American cable news and a fan of Van Susteren, saying “I’ve been watching you for years”.

Despite his knowledge of US politics, Mr Kizon’s knowledge of Australian politics was not as astute.

“If you ask me about the Australian prime minister I wouldn’t know where he lives,” he said.

Mr Kizon is one of WA’s most recognisable men.
